Scrushy Again Asks to Be Released from Prison

Former Healthsouth CEO Richard Scrushy is again asking a Federal appeals court to release him from prison while his conviction is being appealed. His attorney says ten Alabama residents or couples have agreed to put their homes up as bond to insure that Scrushy would not try to flee while out of prison. In earlier motions that were denied, Scrushy offered his homes in Birmingham and on Lake Martin and other property as bond.

WOW I am really amazed of the stupidity of the elite. Although Richard GOT OFF for what he did to Healthsouth, thank God he was finally brought to justice for corruption with his buddy Seigelman. What Richard did to Healthsouth was no different, in my opinion, than strong armed robbery. WE KNOW WHAT HE DID TO HEALTHSOUTH AND SO DOES HE!

There is a reason that his motion for release was denied. So go ahead and put up your home, but do not be suprised when his yacht  takes a turn to MEXICO and Richard and his brood are laughing all the way to his offshore accounts.

He is corrupt! To the bone!  And I for one celebrate each and everyday that he is in prison because it tells me that the justice system does work.

With  gas prices going thru the roof, a recession looming and the mortage crisis, the average Alabamian is having a very hard time.  I saw Rep. John Rogers on Fox stating that a repeal of the tax on food would really help people out.  I have never agreed with Mr. Rogers on anything that I could understand him saying. However, I have to agree with him on this issue.  With Wal*Mart  and other retail grocerers charging  $4.99 per gallon of milk, not to mention the rising prices of other food items, food has started to become a luxury that not all people can afford. Even  a temporary repeal of the food tax would help families. We all have to eat, and drive to work. The problem is how to recoupe the loss of revenue  of repealing the food tax . I find it hard to believe that  the  leaders of the State of Alabama cannot  bring the issue up for debate and come up with something.

Face it people, this is an issue that touches everyone, the wealthy have to eat an use gas just like the poor. This issue crosses all of the socio economic lines and I feel that if the leaders in our state would make an attempt to ease the burdon on the people, perhaps just perhaps there would be confidence that the leaders of this state really do care and can feel the pain of the average Alabamian.

 Whay say you?
