My hats is off to the volunteer fire fighters.  They give of their time and effort to help the public.  The public that does not have the luxury of having a full-time fire department protection.

But, I would like to know why they seem to think that the fire fighter tag gives them the right to park in a handicapped or a fire lane.  They do it all the time.  And another think it seems to make them immune to speeding tickets, whether or not they are going to a fire.  I have seen, more than once a policeman pull over some one for speeding and when they see the fire fighter tag they let them go.  I don't see the difference between them and a regular citizen when it comes to parking or speeding.

Well, I can’t speak for all officers but I try never to write doctors, nurses, firemen or other police officers tickets. The reason I don’t do this is because I don’t want to be laying in the street from a gun shot wound and look up and see the fireman I wrote a ticket to standing over me, or be wielded into the hospital and have one of the nurses or doctors look down and remember me as the guy who wrote them a ticket. Have a written any of them tickets? Sadly yes, when they would not let me be nice. Is that wrong? I don’t care! It works for me. Please see my blog called “setting the record straight”. It is wrong for them to do those things and they should hold themselves to a higher standard.

Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain and most fools do.

BPDMotor6: Before you tell me that I am criticizing, condemning and complaining and that I am a fool why don't you read the comment I made on your blog "Politics and the pulpit. But I was criticizing the cop that gave me a ticket for doing 45 mph in a 35mph as 12:30 a.m. when there was no traffic. I don't appreciate being told what you said by a CHRISTIAN. When I read your blog on politics and the pulpit I thought; there is a policeman that I can really appreciate and respect, but with you quoting the statement from Benjamin Franklin (which I assume you were directing to me) I might change my mind. If you were directing it at me I do forgive you and may God Bless you in you life. I always let an officer be nice to me. Whether they are or not does not affect my reactions to them. It takes a lots of intestinal fortitude to be nice, say yes sir and all that, but I do because I know that you cannot win against the law. I had bad experiences with cops. In 1966 I was arrested by two very young Birmingham policemen driving around in a paddy wagon, while coming out of a resturant for public intoxication when, as God as my witness had not had anything to drink in over one year. I didn't have any previous trouble with the police and did not know what to do. So I signed what-ever they put in front of me and paid my ten dollars or ever how much is was to get out of the BIRMINGHM jail. You probably know one of those officers. His last name was ROUSE. I am not sure, but I think the other ones name was Cohan or something similar. Any way when I gave my heart to Jesus I hold

NO VILLHAM!!! That was NOT directed at you!! i DID RESPONDED! It wasmy pulpit blog and I said I would never write a ticket for less than 15 mph over the speed limit. I knew Rouse and yes I truly believe your story!Sometimes people have badges who should not be allowed to own puppies! There are alot of reasons people get tickets and reasons people don't. I want to invite you to meet me at the Purple Onion on US 31 and 119 Wednesday May 14 at 6:30 pm. Several peopl will be there and I would really like to meet you!
