I hear you support the idea of septic tank users having to pay a sewer fee. LADY, YOU HAVE LOST YOUR FREAKIN MIND~!!!!! Use your head you idiot, I AM NOT PAYING FOR SOMETHING I DONT HAVE!!. smoot, you need to go, you need to have your butt thrown off the county commision. For everyone else who reads this, we need to start a petition to get rid of these fools ( langford, smoot, bell, collins) the sooner they are all gone, the better off we will all be!

AMEN!! And where is Larry during all this? Quiet as a church mouse. He is still in denial that he had anything to do with corruption in the county. On a local newscast he stated at the end of the day you will find people in Birmingham who have done wrong. Couldn't agree more Larry - it's YOU!! Look in the mirror- you are so arrogant. When you open your mouth- all doubt is removed. The state government needs to step in and clean house. Maybe the Feds will get it started for us!

I didn't vote for those 2 either- I have more sense that to fall for all the crazy promises and hare-brained schemes that they campaigned. The only way that "problem" aka Larry and Sheila can be dealt with is when they are run out of office or better yet-carted off to jail!!

I didn't vote for either of them and don't live in the city of B'ham or Shelia's district but I do live close to a large shopping center where I have to pay an extra 1% tax with absolutely NO benefits. I will also contribute to the campaign of any one who runs against them!

Hey DEEPSOUTH, here is a news flash for you. YOU CAN ONLY VOTE FOR THE PEOPLE RUNNING IN YOUR DISTRICT. duh Not many of us are willing to move to SMOOTS district just to vote her sorry butt out of office.

The view gets clearer with time. Just as the electric utility is required to purchase any excess electricity we might generate from a personal generation system, then it seems only right that Jefferson County Sewer System should PAY all current private septic system owners for using their systems. Not only do we own and operate our private septic systems at our own expense, those systems take continuously flowing sewage and disintigrate the solid matter through the use of bacteria, the leach fields remove harmful substances, and return good water to the aquifer/water shed, through the use of our private real estate. To date we have been providing our processing services for free!! It's time that Jefferson County recognize our contribution, and compensate us, and the further it is retroactive, the better!!
