Anybody ever wondered why we have 10 commandments?instead of just one or two.Well I have looked at the 10 Commandments and I have come to realize that most Christians today have absolutely no idea what they mean.Yes they can recite them,and some can even tell you which ones are which but when you get down to it,it is the understanding that counts.Let's look at them shall we?#7 is Thou shall not commit adultery,now when you look at that you think no brainer huh?let's look closer.#1 thou shall have no other Gods before me,That right there is the same as #7.All throughout the Old testament God chastized the children of Israel,several times accusing them of adultery.So if you have other Gods before him you have commited adultery.Anything that takes you away from God. Jobs,money,children,husbands or wives.Anything that you put before God when you do that you have commited adultery!Lets go on shall we?#2 thou shall not make unto thee any graven image!There and again same as #1and 7,if you do this you have commited adultery by putting these things before God!#3 is a little tricky,see most folks think that the use of the word G.D. is taking Gods name in vain,and it may be but lets delve a little deeper.Ever said I swear to God?your guilty!ever testified in a court?You used the name of God to substatiate that you were being truthful,therefore you misused his name and you are guilty!The taking of oaths and profane language are misuses of his name so your guilty!Now #4 makes no scence at all,Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy,Ok do we keep Saturday or Sunday Holy?The Jewish sabbath is Saturday and Sunday is the first day of the week so this one would seem irrelevant,since when you get up on Sunday Morning,and put on your Sunday go to meeting clothes,shower,shave,(ladies hair and makeup)and drive to Church you have broken that commandment.And you screwed up on Saturday to!While you were at the lake,Wal-mart,working,playing or whatever.#5 has always puzzled me,Honor thy father and mother.Ok lets say dad used to come home drunk and put a beating on you,or molested you,Are you still supposed to honor such a man.What about mom,she's a crackhead that left you home alone while out chasing her next fix,or she neglects her family to chase after Men and partake in other deviant forms of sins of the flesh,Do you honor that.My friends I am a firm beleiver that respect has to be earned,My parents earned my respect!But some folks I have seen have horrible parents who deserve to be horse whipped.So do we still honor them?#6 thou shall not kill goes beyond the classic thought of murder and when examined more closely should have been paired with #10 thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor.Because when you lie on someone then you are killing that person's character and also when you speak evil of that person you assasinate their spirit with your lies and gossip.#7 theres that pesky one again always rearing it's ugly head cause there is no 2 way's around it,whether your cheating on your spouse or doing something else that is not worshiping God you have commited adultery.#8 Thou shall not steal,and # 10 should have also been paired together because when you steal something from someone it had to start with coveting anothers belongings,Thou shall not covet thy neighbors house,nor his wife.and that brings me to the question,were 10 commandments really necessary or could God have combined the ones that mean absolutely the same thing,and there would have only been 3 or 4.

Hey everybody,I just wanted to say that in all this fuss and nonscence these day's of Gastric Bypass surgery,and lap bands and the likes.I have some interesting news for all the fat folks outthere.Being quite a porker myself I am allowed to say this.1 year ago at this time I weighed a monstrous 380 pounds,I was strongly considering gastric bypass surgery.I consulted a Dr.and he gave me some tips and preperations to prepare for the surgery.At the top of the list of course was quitting smoking,if you stump your toe these day's according to Doctor's,smoking is the cause.I did'nt see to much hope in that,but what I did see got my attention.Beside smoking there were some other do's and don'ts on this list.here are the do's that I did.One of the do's was stop eating fatty foods such as potatoe's,white bread,sugar,white rice and anything that turns to carbs once you swallow it.another thing it said to do was exercise.I am a large framed man anyway and when I gain weight my whole body gets bigger legs,arms,fingers etc.not just my belly.I got to thinking well I still got 2 strong legs to carry me around so this is what I did.I started walking 1/2 mile a day,and beleive me that first walk was a killer,I quit eating junk,started having 1 helping only at the supper table,instead of Mcdonalds,Burger king,Taco Bell,etc for lunch I started having 1 sandwich or a salad,or some fruits such as banana's,tomato's and such.My breakfast routine did not change.And I traded my regular Dr.Peppers and Mt.Dews for diet ones.As of Friday July 24th 2008 I now weigh 265,and I feel great.I am up to 4 miles walking every afternoon and I for the first time in a long time am proud of myself.My goal is 200,now some would say standing only 5foot 10inches tall that would be considered overweight,but for a man of my frame and stature,and the fact that I can't remember the last time I weighed 200 or under I think that will be just right.Unfortunatly the curse of smoking I still have but the good news is at my Examination last friday my Dr. done a lung exray and a breathing test and all that looked great,so the smoking is'nt killing me yet,but that is my next goal.So for all you big folks outthere noshamejamezzz can relate to what your going through.And before you jump up on a table under a surgeon's scapple try all other option's first please.The Lord put all your inards in there like they are for a purpose,and when you start messing with them by surgery,you could be opening yourself up for a whole host of complications.On the paper work of possible side effects of Gastric Bypass surgery,mine had at #1 on the list in big bold letter's at the top of the page,DEATH.so please examine all possible alternatives.115 in a year WOW.

A man sits at a casino table and gamble's all his money away,now the majority would say he's just having fun.Does that make it OK? A woman goes home with another man because her marriage is on the rocks.Does that make it OK? A teenage girl goes into an abortion clinic to do away with an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy,she's not ready for a baby now and can't take care of it.Does that make it OK? You know according to the Bible rebelion is as the sin of witchcraft.In this world where every sin known to man is somehow justifide by well this and well that,and the exuses abound.Are those who know to do good and doeth it not guilty of witchcraft as the Bible seems to indicate? You tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blessed are the meek:for they shall inherit the Earth.Saint Matthew 5:5.Blessed are the merciful:for they shall obtain mercy.Saint Matthew 5:7.Thursday was St.Valentine's Day,a day of Love,romance,passion and breaking the bonds of racism.What I mean by that is growing up when I did In the 1970's and 80's,and in the south I saw a lot of things that were not right,for instance the prejudice against blacks in the pulpit.See I grew up in a time were in the Church of God,Jesus could come and take us all to Heaven at any time.(provided you were white)it was'nt spoken that way but you could hear it in the way the sermon was preached,you could also see it when very seldom some black folks visited our church,very few of the church faithful would nod their head but that was it.and I alway's wondered if this is what Jesus would do.I also heard preached that white's should'nt marry black's and the races should'nt mingle and all that nonsence.which I have read the Bible through several times and I have never seen anything that say's that.I've also heard white men say if my daughter has a black child I'll disown her.What has made this Valentine's week special to me is that I have seen two very close freinds of mine's daughters have mixed babies and neither daughter was disowned.They still loved their daughters and they could'nt put down their new grandchild even if he or she was half black.Then it occured to me that I guess love really does'nt know any coler and it knows no boundries.What happened to all those hatefull words.Blessed are the meek;for they shall inherit the earth.
