WHERE IS LARRY WHEN YOU NEED HIM

Have you noticed since the Mayor's SEC problems, sewer nightmare and the tax lawsuit has taken center stage in this fair city that Larry has strangly disappeared from the local evening news. Larry does not have any direct connection with the county problems now except for the many years he spent on the county commission helping to create the nightmares the county now faces. This whole country club has mismanaged the tax paying citizens funds for so long it has finally come time to pay up or come clean and they are PASSING THE BUCK AS FAST AS THEY CAN. This problem started way back during the illustrious Mayor Arrington's tenure and has continued since then. They have  waisted and squandered our childrens future much less our own. Only in Birmingham and Jefferson County can something that every other city takes for granted like a sewer system be turned into a cash cow that has been used to raise over the top sewer revenue, taxes and personal bank accounts of our elected decision makers. You know, if you put a wolf in a meat market he will eat unabated.  Given that previous statement, the voters of this fair city and county has to take some responsibilty. One would think that the average voter out there would educate themselves with the issues of the county and city and vote for people that can do more than just talk a good game. Black or white vote for a person of character rather than race. I truly love my dog, but if he bites me everytime I go near him, he will have to go.

I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, it seems a majority of citizens around these parts are thrilled to death with the likes of LA LA, Gary White, Stanley Mims, Katapodis, Rev. Health South, ... I see LA LA has now sent Bell out of the country to the tune of over $7000 to celebrate Dr. King. Look for
these bedfellows to spark some new initiatives down the road. It seems that it shall never end, but something tells me the caboose is about to exit this train pretty soon. We'll
see ...

O.k...I hate to beat a dead horse, but here I go, again...I repeat..as I said before...HAS ANYONE BEEN TO FAIRFIELD lately? This is where B'ham's Mayor got his start. I dare you to drive through or heaven forbid..shop whatever shops are left there. That, my friends, is what B'ham can expect. My poor parents still live In a little place called Green Acres. It borders on Midfield, close to Fairfield...when they shop, my dad, who is afraid of nothing...is constantly watching their backs. That is their home and they will not leave! My Mom said that she was so glad they were cleaning up the communities, EXCUSE ME, but that's what they were SUPPOSED TO DO in the first place!! How many times did Fox 6 catch B'ham employees ASLEEP on the job??? Now, the new mayor is taking all the credit for what the workers were supposed to be doing in the first place??? You wonder where he is when all the other stuff hits the fan??? Oh please tell me B'ham, your not that dumb?????

lady, sorry about your parents but NOBODY goes to Fairfield if they can help it.

your exactly right about the cleanup--that's what they're supposed to be getting paid for.
Where was the garbage and trash pickup all that time?

Same thing with the schools--why aren't the city or county maint. people tending the repairs and maint?

What exactly are they doing?

Your father and mother need a little 38 Ultra Lite- first shell to chamber - snake shot to the legs, all others the real deal if they can't take the hint. We've all got to face the fact that we are going to have to protect ourselves from the predators roaming our streets.

Suzee, don't worry your head about the pistol thing, they have that covered. My WHOLE family doesn't play where that's concerned. It's just such a shame that after all these years, they have to keep everything locked up.
Oh, and be careful about that shooting in the leg thing...haven't you heard the criminals can sue you if they survive??? Crazy but true.
Bamaborn...I'm sure there is a pocket in those baggy britches for a gun. :-) You can bet Larry won't be found at any pool in West End.

Businesses and people with the wherewithal have left Birmingham for years and now they must face the possibility of leaving the county as the corruption just festers in local 'government' systems. Everybody has an angle to play, I love the self-righteousness of some of them. Its pretty good entertainment if it wasn't so frigging expensive. The only cure is to vote them out regularly then pray for change or move.

Larry Langford is the best "FISH OIL SALESMAN" since George C. Wallace who sold us the Public Service Commission.
Where is he gone? Out promising more MONEY, more Money from the taxpayers just like he did with Fairfield, Vision Land and the County Commission. Now is time for Birmingham to suffer the stupidity of the voters who elected him.

In one of your comments you were talking about the money that these small cities gets from writing tickets. I think they only get approximately 20 percent and the remainder goes to the state. That is what a Mayor of a city told me. I asked another mayor about it and he gave me the same answer. I don't know if this is true or not, just thought that I would pass that along.
