Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Does this sound familiar to most of you? Sure it does. Even if you are not a believer in God. It is right and good.
Treat people the way you want to be treated. Even better, think about treating people better than they treat you and see what happens......a miracle just might occur.
Often we all strive to do something (good); anything in this case, let's say, "make widgets". Often we try and despite our best efforts, we are not be able to achieve that objective. How does one know when it is God trying to intervene on behalf of the individual and save him or her from themselves because quite possibly they are not ready for it? How does one know when it is simply the devil sabotaging the good intentions and ambition to do something good?
I know the simple answer is "listen to God"; I've heard that. As a matter of fact, that's all I've heard. Maybe some of the more spiritually mature people have forgotten what it's like to be young in their walk with God. Maybe they think it's a stupid question and that if I was "right with God", I'd know already.
I just want to know: Is it God saving someone or the devil sabotaging them?
Throughout all of recorded history the devil has taken a lot of heat. The devil has many names depending on who you ask. Almost every religion has a devil or some physical manifestation of evil or representative of Hell. We blame these demons and mignons of Hell for the evils in our world. We say they possess us and force us to commit crimes. They whisper in our ear and tell us it’s ok to snort that line of coke or go ahead and call an escort service if you are traveling out of town. No one ever has to know.
Is this blame fairly placed or are we just passing the buck to an easy target? Let’s take another look at the original sin as believed by both Jews and Christians and let’s do so honestly and objectively.
Genesis 2: 15-17
15. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
16. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
17. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Ok, so why did God not want us to have the knowledge of good and evil? Did he feel it was too much responsibility for us? Did he like the idea of having a bunch of ignorant talking monkeys running around the garden naked? Why would God wish to deny us the knowledge of what is right and why leave us in the dark about what is evil? How were we to avoid what we did not know existed?
Genesis 3: 1-4
1. Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2. And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3. But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4. And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die:
Satan is often called the prince of liars, but who lied here? She did not die. Adam did not die. The lived out their lives and died at a ripe old age. Satan didn’t deceive anyone. He told her she would not die. She didn’t.
Genesis 3: 5
5. For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Is that not the same thing God said the fruit was? Satan told Eve exactly what the fruit was and what it would do. It did exactly what he said it would.
Genesis 3: 6-7
6. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
And the eyes of them both were opened just like the serpent said they would be. Where is the deception? Who put that tree in the garden to begin with? Have we not always been people who choose freedom over oppression? Who was it then that offered us knowledge and who was it that threatened to kill us if we took from a tree that he had put among us without giving us the knowledge required to avoid it?
God made an attempt to suppress our mental development. Satan freed us. This is a very logical conclusion, supported by the Bible itself. So why do we demonize the devil?
A man sits at a casino table and gamble's all his money away,now the majority would say he's just having fun.Does that make it OK? A woman goes home with another man because her marriage is on the rocks.Does that make it OK? A teenage girl goes into an abortion clinic to do away with an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy,she's not ready for a baby now and can't take care of it.Does that make it OK? You know according to the Bible rebelion is as the sin of witchcraft.In this world where every sin known to man is somehow justifide by well this and well that,and the exuses abound.Are those who know to do good and doeth it not guilty of witchcraft as the Bible seems to indicate? You tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Blessed am I to come across the blog on Faith. Blessed am I God was not finished with me. I had become bitter and hard, and for a time I even wondered about the existance of God. I came across a Joel Osteen program one Sunday morning, I hoped God would give me another chance and change my life so that I might live for Him. I have done many things I am so ashamed of. I am an alcoholic, but with God's love and grace I have abstained. I know God forgives me for my past, but I have a really hard time forgivng myself.
I am hoping that by sharing my story, that I can perhaps help another, as well as help myself come to terms with some of my past.

Well it's summer which means I have a lot more time on my hands now that school is out. I come here often to see what's going on, to see who's griping about what, to see who's calling who a fool, to see what mess the JeffCo commission or Bham City Council is making with their own collective geniuses at the helm.....to see how high gas prices are (as if I don't already know) yada yada yada....however, I am reminded of a very troubled man in the Bible who, although made many mistakes, also wrote Psalms from which I take my strength from daily.........
People worrying about gas prices. I'm not inclined to do so. Why? David said in Psalms 37:25- "...I have never seen the righteous forsaken or his seed begging bread...." Hmmmm....so why worry?
People worrying about who the next president will or WON'T be......Why? David said in Psalms 18:2 "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower"....Hmmmmm x 2.....so does it really MATTER who becomes president? Has it really MATTERED to Christians before? We're still here, right?
People worrying about those of alternative lifestyles....well, in my Bible...Genesis 1:28 to be exact, it says "Be fruitful and multiply..." With that being said, I like men and I think men are supposed to like me. Soooooooooo, gather from that what you will. (Hint: But it's kinda hard to multiply when the tools don't fit together.....)
Seriously though: People should be worried about people's souls. On every block, there is a church. On every corner, there is a church. We are distracted. People's souls are going to hell and in the meantime, we concern ourselves with minute issues that amount to nothing in the sight of God. Jesus himself told us in Matthew to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us. Wasn't the greatest commandment of them all to love?
I lost a friend yesterday- a young man who was a great person and who still had a lot of life to live. It is not a time to be bitter, people. It is not a time to be pointing fingers and calling names whether in malice or in jest. It is time to be the Christians that the world bets we cannot be: Christians who really stirve to be Christ-like. I say all of this in love and with that being said, Katie is headed to the beach!!!!!!!
I've mentioned in responding to another question that there are churches whose members act as if they are truly in charge of the spiritual condition in the B'ham area. What is going to happen in Heaven when they get to Heaven and discover the presence of those whom they themselves would have condemned? What are they going to do with the fact that God is in control?
It would make excellent Pythonesque satire to examine their options. Would they swagger up to God's throne and confront Him with Bible verses ? Threaten to walk out of Heaven . . . where are they going to go . . . The Other Place, I suppose . . . if God doesn't kick those so-and-so's out?
One thing we Christians need to remember is that we are NOT the potter - we are the clay.
A few years ago, at the place where I was working at the time, in a conversation with a co-worker I said ". . . God is going to do something . . ." about a problem we were discussing. Well, my supervisor, who went to one of these "We're in charge" churches, called me into her office and yelled, "LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!! GOD DOESN'T OWE YOU ANYTHING EXCEPT FOOD, CLOTHING AND SHELTER, AND YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO RELY ON HIM FOR ANYTHING ELSE!!!!" Can you imagine being chewed out for having faith!!

No Sin Is Greater Than Another
IF you understand the bible, you will know that there is no sin greater than the other, sin is just sin, there is no major sin and minor sin contained in the bible.
Note I said, If you understand the bible, I never said read the bible.
This is because reading and understanding are two different things.
As an example if I read my New International Version bible in 1 Corinthians 6 verses 9 and 10, it clearly mentions homosexuality as a sin and goes further to mention other sinful natures as part of those who will never inherit the Kingdom of GOD.
I believe the writer(s) overlooked this particular verse for the basic reason of furthering their cause, rather than telling the truth.
In Leviticus 18, GOD never says it is unclean, in verse 4 HE says, Obey my laws and follow my decrees.
As GOD addressed MAN in the old testament HE also addressed the HUMAN race at that time, just because it does not go on to point out women, does not mean in verse 6 it okay for a daughter to dishonour her mother by having sexual relations with her father, does it? As for Jonathan and David, the bible states their relationship as a blood brotherhood relationship, where they physically cut their palms, gripped their hands together and let their blood contact and exchange, symbolizing blood brotherhood, something very common in the old times where HIV/AIDS contamination was not feared.
Please show me which verse in the bible indicates a sexual encounter between the two and I will gladly publicly acknowledge my mistake.
The bible is not an instrument of hate, it emphasizes love above all, but my question is how do you love someone who thinks it's okay for them to sin because they are more special than the next person? 1 Corinthians 6 verses 19 and 20 explains this more clearly, if you fail to understand this then read 1 Corinthians 2 verse 14 and Romans 8 verses 5 to 8 which explains why you do not accept and understand a simple law of GOD.
Comment: The American Constitution is based on the word of GOD; it does not recognize gay and lesbian relationships and marriages.
Right now your colleagues have launched a court battle to try and overturn this - now tell me again how accepted homosexuality is in the Kingdom of GOD? As the American Constitution clearly states, In GOD we trust.
Myth: Homosexuals are mentally ill
Fact:
As you clearly pointed out, homosexuals are not mentally ill and yes in
1973 the Association of Psychiatrists in Europe recognized this and
stopped classifying homosexuality as a mental disorder.
You just did not add that they referred it to the Medical Practitioners and Medical Scientists for classification as a sexual hormone deficiency disease and further studies as AIDS started surfacing among gays.
Those studies led to the similar naming of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, commonly know today as AIDS, as this was and still is mostly a gay disease in the United States and Europe where it is prevalent and not among the general population like here.
You are very free to check this out with the records of both Associations in Europe and the USA, starting 1971 to 1975.
Myth: You can tell if someone is a homosexual by just looking at them
Fact: People who cross dress are called transvestites, not transgender, as most of these are homosexuals.
There are a few exceptions; actors and characters one cannot figure out like Dennis Rodman, who likes to ridicule homosexuals in a more direct way.
However one cannot tell by just looking at a person, there are those who would beg to differ on this of course.
Myth: People choose to be homosexual
Fact:
I do not know about this, whether it is a choice or a sexual hormone
deficiency, I will leave it to the experts to define, but I know the
body is capable of any deficiency.
For those who want to go on and argue this I will refer you to lack of skin pigmentation in albinos born in most cases from two healthy individuals and we accept it as a deficiency, a sexual hormone deficiency, I guess is still arguable?
Myth: Homosexuality is unnatural
Fact: Homosexuality occurs in nearly 500 animal species? Almost correct.
It occurs in 466 animal species, of which you just forgot to add that there are several million animal species globally, this study only focused on less than 10 000 well-documented species.
You also forgot to mention that of the 466 species homosexuality occurs in, 342 of those have the ability of changing from male to female, and vice-versa according to their numbers, ensuring an equal distribution and addressing an imbalance amongst the species.
111 species have both the male and female organ and only the dominant members can mate with the other as a male from one mating season to the other, others just mate on their own without a second partner.
This leaves only 13 recorded animal species out of 10 000 that are truly homosexual at times and not all the time as you put it.
It also very important to note that only humans are mostly capable of having sex for recreational purposes, the rest of the animals have sex for procreation purposes only.
This is where exclusive homosexuality fails the test, because it signifies the end of each species.
Man and man, woman and woman cannot procreate and will never be able to do so without a third person, medical or physical.
Most homosexuals opt for adoption of children created by another man and woman, going against their own beliefs and acknowledging their own shortcomings.
The 13 animal species I mentioned earlier, recognize this and during mating season they address this by seeking a mate of the opposite sex to mate with.
A human homosexual who does this will probably be viewed as a traitor by his or her partner and realistic by the rest of the world.
Myth: Homosexuality is un-African
Fact:
Homosexuality has always been regarded as shameful among Africans,
which is why the Portuguese came across the expelled community group of
homosexuals living near the ocean.
In Zimbabwe there is no tribe called Mazoe, there is only a place/town/area with that name.
As for the Tonga, not Thonga, they have never encouraged homosexuality; check this with the Zimbabwean Embassy or the University of Zimbabwe.
Traditional and not native languages have words that describe homosexuals much in the same way we have words to describe, witches, demons, thieves, robbers, rapist, murderers and even liars, this does not mean we view them as productive members of society, it means we acknowledge their existence in our societies and we continue to treat them accordingly as did our forefathers.
To use San paintings to justify homosexuality gave me stomach cramps from laughing.
Come on, are you so desperate to be accepted you would stoop so low? Show me a San painting that depicts a homosexual relationship and I will show you a group of misguided individuals.
As for the Ovambo and Herero traditions, you will hear from the scholars very soon in detail.
In conclusion, do not use the bible or the African point of view to justify your existence.
It is better to just say who you are and leave it at that.
Do not feed this gross misinformation to our nation because sooner, rather than later, you will have the same reaction and treatment your colleagues got in Zimbabwe when they tried to go public and challenge the nation, double check with your Zimbabwe colleagues on this one before its too late.
I will leave you with the words of one very wise man in our nation when he had to address this very issue of homosexuals, President Sam Nuyoma, Do your things in private, behind your closed doors and in your bedrooms, and do not involve the nation and we will leave you alone.

Sin is beginning to take its toll on your life. You look 20 years older, and now, I need new blood. So go ahead and teach some children how to sin. All you have to do is smoke, get drunk or drink while under-aged, cheat, gamble, gossip, fornicate, and live being as selfish as possible. Do all of this in the presence of children and they will do it too. Kids are like that.

If you were smart, you would run somewhere, confess your sins, and live for God with what little bit of life that you have left. It's not my nature to warn anyone, but to be your age and still sinning, it's becoming a bit ridiculous.

In order to be successful in establishing
truth, we have to be imbued with the spirit of Allah (God). Otherwise,
the persecution that follows revelation will prove to be too much and
we will give up the truth to seek some comfort from those who would
persecute us for the sake of truth. There is no such thing as
revelation coming to a people and that revelation is not followed by
persecution, insult, injury, torture and even prison or death, but,
those who really believe in the Message and the Messenger are imbued
with a kind of spirit that no matter what persecution they receive on
account of the Word, they become stronger rather than weaker; they
become bolder rather than more reticent; they have the spirit of a
warrior; they want to fight for the truth and fight for the
establishment of a truth that would set their people free. This is why
the scripture says, “Many are called but only a few are chosen.” Many
will know it is the truth and love it, but, they will not have the
strength to stand up for it under persecution or even unto death.
This particular prophecy in Isaiah is a forecast of The One that would come at the end of the world of Satan. Isaiah says, “The spirit of the Lord God is upon me because the Lord hath anointed me to preach glad tidings unto the meek.” This scripture is talking about the Black man and woman of America who are meek in terms of how we face the onslaught of our enemies in terms of our inability to cast off the yoke of our oppressor. The glad tidings to the meek is that the end of your oppression has arrived and the end of your oppressor has arrived, and, the most beautiful part of this is that the God Who is prophesied to come has come and is present and chooses a foolish people. Well, that is us. I am not trying to put us down, but, we are definitely rather foolish. It is not your fault we were made foolish by our enemies, but, the Book says that He would choose a people who were once a great people but are no people at all now. He says, “Thou shalt no more be the tail. Thou shalt be the head.”
As a Black person, Negro, Colored or African American, whatever you want to call yourself, you have such a poor view of yourself though you pray more than others, you go to church more than others, you shout more than others, you believe more deeply than others. Yet, you do not believe that Allah (God) would come to you, that He would choose you to bring a revelation that He has kept from the wise and the prudent men and the rulers of this world. Since you think like that, it is very difficult for you to see your value in this time.
No people in history have ever undergone what we have undergone. We have shown a tremendous ability to bounce back from the worst form of slavery and oppression. This tells us, as the Bible teaches, that you were not chosen for your righteousness. We are of the righteous but we are not acting that way. The scripture says that you were chosen out of the furnace of affliction because the furnace was designed for you to purify you and me, and, to make us the standard by which value would be measured. This is why the Bible says, “God’s coming would be as a refiner’s fire and like Fullers’ soap.” You are considered to be like gold that you find in the depth of the earth, but, gold has to be purified of the dross that is on it so it can shine and become a standard of value.
When Allah (God) chose the Arabs, He chose a people that were nothing. They were ignorant, divided and steeped in filth, yet, they were the choice of Allah (God) to raise Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] from among them and give them the greatest revelation that had been in the world up to that time— the Qur’an. After this Book was revealed, Islam captured the known world, then, the west was discovered by the Europeans and Europeans have built a world now that has literally overtaken the world of Islam. Yet, Allah (God) says in the Qur’an that, “He sent His Messenger with the guidance and the true religion that He may make it overcome the religions—all of them.” Islam has been overcome by the powers of the western world. Why is that? It is because the Book (Qur’an) is here, the revelation is here, but, the real essence of the meaning of the Book is yet to come. The Book is designed to destroy Satan’s world. The Book is designed to prepare the believers in this Book for the Hereafter, which the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said means “Here on this earth after the destruction of the power of the wicked to rule.” A whole New World will come to the earth.
The most powerful country on earth is the United States of America. It would be foolish for us to think that the prophets could see into the future and not see America in their prophetic utterances. It is a nation in which is another nation, an entire people swallowed up by another people and are oppressed by that powerful people, and, that people refuse to let you go or give you justice.
You have had to fight, bleed and die just to go to the toilet with White people, to eat at a lunch counter with White people, to sleep in a hotel or motel with White people. You have had to die to have the right to enter a boardroom of Corporate America and you still do not have what you need to be free. You refuse to believe that the rulers of America are your open enemies. This is because you do not know what an enemy is.
Everything in nature has a natural enemy. An enemy is one who would deprive you of life, freedom, justice, equality, the pursuit of happiness, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, love, peace, brotherhood and unity. Who is the natural enemy of Allah (God) and the natural enemy of the Black man?
I have dogs at our farm and I have cats. At first they were natural enemies and would fight each other, but, since some of them grew together, the cat can lie down with the dog, but, I have other dogs that have never had that experience, and, if I let those dogs out of the kennel, they would kill every cat in sight; they would kill the sheep. So, enemies can grow together, and, when they get use to each other they forget that they are enemies, but, I watch when it is time to eat and the dog that appeared to be a friend of the cat will fight the cat. The dog gets confused sometimes, and, I see him going around the female cat.
He can’t do anything, but, the tomcat does not like that. It seems like they get a little upset, and, the nature comes out in them because they are natural enemies. It should be easy for you to understand that you have had an enemy in order for you to be deprived of what it takes to have happiness, freedom, justice, equality, knowledge, wisdom, understanding, love, peace, happiness and unity. The minute we try to unite, there is always somebody from the outside that feels threatened by our unity; they break it up.
Your enemy never wants to see you independent of him. He must always be the master and you must always be the servant. And when you try to escape being a servant he finds devious ways to get you back under his wings. He makes you an offer that you cannot refuse—an offer in money backed by guns and gangsters. You do not have an army and the lure of money gets you. So, Beatrice Foods is now back in the hands of Caucasians. Motown is owned by Caucasians. Ultra Sheen is owned by Caucasians. BET (Black Entertainment Television) has been taken over by Caucasians. Russell Simmons struggled with Def Jam records, Def Jam Comedy, and they gave him an offer. Now he works for them.
Mr. Bob Johnson, the former owner of BET, now works for Viacom. He received more than a billion dollars, but, what is the dollar? It is a piece of paper with a White man’s face on it and the value of that paper is going down every day that we live so what you have is nothing. They call it a partnership, but, all the while they are trying to find a way to take it from you. Why? Because independence is too much for you. You will begin to think that you are equal to them and you must never think that. In their mind, you, your children, your grandchildren and your great grandchildren must always be servants to your former slave masters and their children.
You may say, “Well, we are the enemies of ourselves.” Allah (God) did not make you that way. White people made you that way. Allah (God) made a man in His own image and after His own likeness, and, unless you are what Allah (God) made you, you are exactly what the White man made you, and, he made you a BLEEP, a coon, a shine, a ham bone, a colored boy, a worthless nothing. The sad thing is, that is the way we think about ourselves. That is why it is so easy for you as a brother to shoot down your own brother, because you do not see him as your brother. If he doesn’t wear the same color, if he doesn’t have the same sign, if he doesn’t live in the same neighborhood, then, he is something different from you. That is ignorance, and, that ignorance allows the enemy to feed you guns, feed you drugs, and make you the number one killer of yourself and your people.
You have got an enemy, brother, but, I want to acquaint you with your friend.
