I don't really understand what is going on with parents these days. After reading all these stories about children that try killing their teachers because they got punished for something, I started looking at my 2nd grade classroom. I have one student in particular who gets in trouble on a regular basis, yet his parents continue to let him play baseball and go on with his normal activities. They think he can do no wrong and it's always someone elses fault. They especially think it's my fault, especially when I try to reprimand him. They expect me to give him special treatment. They even asked if I would change a grade for him! This is outrageous to me! Why are parents letting their children get away with so many wrongdoings?? What has happened to parenting today?
