S. O. S. now I know what you're thinking; but I'm saying Same - Ole - Story, only this time different personnel. The county commission must think that if they play stupid long enough their fairy tale saga will soon be over.

I say call Dave Ramsey; he's a financial goo roo who helps people get out of debt. Why shoot, he may not even charge $ 75, 000 a month.  Dave may only charge half of that and from the savings Dave Ramsey has benefited the county, then our roads might be improved. Wait; did I say our roads ? what was I thinking ? the roads haven't been improved since they went from dirt to asphalt.

The consulting firm that was going to charge $ 75,000.00 a month, you know would take their dear sweet time and still NOT accomplish any thing. Why; if some one was paying me even half that amount I'd take my time, what do they say? Don't rush get in a big hurry ?

The simple answer is take the $ 75,000.00 put it toward the debt instead of the consulting firm (s) and in a few months, or even years the debt would be paid. Just as you would do your own personal affairs.  That my friends did NOT come from Dave Ramsey either.

Is Langford on some sort of STUPID drug or what ?  He can come up with the most ignoramous ideas of any " leader " I have ever seen. Almost everytime you watch the news, he has some sort of far fetched idea on making Birmingham and the state of Alabama look foolish.

He's done almost everything he can, from keeping what he promised to do if elected mayor.  He finds ways to spend ( excuse me; I mean ) waste taxpayers money. His lastest " concocked  idea" is he wants to change the name of the Birmingham Airport from  Birmingham International Airport to the, ready for this; 

the Fred Shuttlesworth International Airport.

I am NOT prejudiced here, but what in the devil is he thinking? Too many people travel from all over the world stopping and changing planes in Birmingham, and by changing the name of the airport, it would confuse them to where they might think they are in the wrong city.

If he wants to rename something, how about renaming a street, building, or park but NOT something that would make Birmiongham even more confused than we already look. It really amazes me how much LaLa likes being in the spot light. Everytime you turn on the news, there is LaLa, making his ever mighty self known. LOL It's time for him to move on, but again why should he he get's most everything he wants as it is so; Why buy the cow when you get the milk for free ?

If you still drive around downtown especially on southside, UAB area anywhere from 13th street so. - 22nd street so.; 2nd ave to university blvd. you will see that the Dishonorable LaLa, STILL  has NOT kept his campaign promises of fixing our streets. Wait, I forgot they have cut the grass and tore down abandoned houses, LOL, but I don't drive on grass.

LaLa is still trying to find ways of wasting money, again.  I'm like this, if I tell you something I'm going to do you can pretty much bet I will do it. Why do the politicians say one thing and yet do another? Why can't they make it look half way believable. Is that like; the check's in the mail sort of thing?

Be honest and say I won't keep my promises, I will raise taxes, and I will get ALL I can out of the hard working people before I leave office so I can relax and laugh all the way to the bank. Sound like the officals of Larryham, Smootsville, or Bettysville and others?

Oh yeah, they should raise taxes AGAIN for the schools you know; they need help. I'm tired of that same ole song and dance routine too, the schools need this & that, No the officials need to make more money to pay for their Cadilliac Escalades, Mercedes, Tahoes, and new boats. Oooh that stung HUH ?

Have you heard President Bush is proposing to use off shore oil drilling possibly in the Gulf of Mexico ?  Well to me it sounds as if something is FINALLY starting to happen about the oil refineries and gas prices. One democrat is using their head and saying that maybe the govement should take over the refineries. You may disagree with that, but if that happens then it may STOP the rise of gas.  We will be able to use OUR oil from AMERICAN soil. 

I know it's not a " fix " ( if you will ) and maybe just a bandaid to the situation, but what has been done so far ? Right, not much. The oil executives, wall street, and whoever else has been allowed free reign to price oil, & gas like they want to.  Somewhere it has to stop or we all will be forced to take on a second or third job just to make ends meet.

Don't tell me all this crap about how much tax is added to each gallon, the state tax, and fed. tax; ( i.e., Martin Kaine  which you and I have already discussed and it really doesn't matter), but the executives from the gas companies ( Exxon, Shell, Conoco, Chevron, American BP ) were testifying before congress, they were asked ( because I watched it on the internet ) how much profit they made in one qtr. and two said OVER 2 million $ which I believe were Exxon & Chevron ; the one from Conoco said he COULDN'T remember; and the two from Shell & American BP said they were not in the top 5 but it was over $ 200, 000. Now is ALL of that taxes ?  NO !!!

So that told me they were ripping the public off, and the goverment isn't doing ANYTHING about it. So if they made that kind of profit, then maybe if the goverment takes over the refineries, they could actually put a CAP on gas prices, don't you think ?

What have we done folks?  We have went off the deep end thinking that same sex marriages or relationships are natural. They are NOT natural ! Do you see animals having sex with the same sex they are ? Can a male give birth or a female produce fertile sperm to impregnate anything? The answer to these questions is " ABOSOLUTELY NO !!!   So why then are people who God created think it's natural to marry and have sex with the same sex as they are ?  Simple it's PERVERSION from satan himself.

I know that some will argue and debate the issue but there is NO substantual arguement here people. You have lost your everloving mind if you think it is excepted by God who created the human body out of dirt, and gave life to it. After creating Adam,then Eve out of one of Adam's ribs He told them to multiply and reproduce. Now if He wanted it to be man / man or woman / woman, then how could they multiply if they didn't have intercourse with each other ? 

We ALL know the process of intercourse, conception, delivery, so explain to me how can same sex relationships be " NATURAL ".  They CAN"T !!!

I hear people say " I was born gay " No, you were NOT born gay, you were born NAKED.  At what age does anybody start learning about sex, 9 - 14 yrs old maybe, any less of these ages you are still playing with dolls, trucks, riding bikes, fishing,  computer games,  the newest gadgets that has come out ( that mom & dad buys ) having and going to birthday parties. You are NOT thinking about sex because at that age you don't understand the process and what sex is meant for in the first place. If you did a survey, probably over half of the kids would tell you they could care less about sex.

So shut up about being " Born " gay, you " chose " to be gay. Again, it's NOT NATURAL.  I'll debate this anytime, but according to Gods word, it is an abomination to Him and a sin which will take you to hell unless you confess it, ask for forgiveness and QUIT living that lifestyle ( oh by the way it CAN be done ). There are people who " were gay " but now have been forgiven are now married  (as God ordained marriage to be) , man / woman !! 

God said it's;  Adam & Eve  NOT  Adam & Steve !!!

I guess by now you know who probably will get the Democratic nomination for the presidency. I have been wondering How can any red blooded american vote for someone who , will NOT salute our flag ? There have been pictures of Hilliary, McCain, and the others were saluting the flag and Obama was looking away and NOT saluting the flag.

You can say that the picture was altered, maybe so, but that left a bad taste in my mouth for him, also doesn't it ring a bell about the similarity of the name ? " Osama - Obama ", I 'm not very smart but come on, we are going to vote for a person who is from another culture. What has happened to the AMERICAN people ?Talk about "change " well duh. Yes that is what I call change. We as God fearing red blooded americans are being decieved here.  All of us know the politicians say ANYTHING we want to hear and then do what THEY want to do.

 If we elect Obama, then our military people are fighting for an unjust cause. Have we FORGOT 911 ? I remember how gunho we were back then, how we wanted to blow them up, but now we're saying wait let's forgive & forget.  By voting for Obama, we are accepting the fact that 911 was only a bad dream, and that they were really not trying to hurt anybody. Does a rattlesnake intend to bite, or does a bee intend to sting when either one gets aggitated ?

If Obama does get elected as president of the greatest nation, and all H--- breaks loose, don't come crying and saying we need to make a " change " , before voting and then realizing what a bad desicision you've made, PRAY about the choice FIRST.

I know our leaders in our day ( i.e. Richard Scrushy, Don Siegalman, Gary Wyatt, etc.) have been involved in corruption cases throughout their careers, but it makes me wonder why they think that the public and our judical system is so stupid to overlook their corrupt transactions.  Now I am not saying I'm the smartest person nor the sharpest knife in the drawer, but you know when you have done or are about to do something wrong , no one has to tell you you're about to do wrong.  True you may not get caught right off the bat.

Sure nobody likes to get caught because of the consequences that they may face but  is it not better to admit to wrong doings before you are humiiated publically ?  As a child I did not like getting a spanking for doing wrong, but I learned from doing wrong that if I did it again I would get another spaking and it would be even more severe.  I had rather for them to come clean, admit they did wrong ,than to lie about it.  Most of the time people will forget a persons error than remember it for ever when they lie and then get caugt.  Talk about humillation for them and their families. Remember how Schrushy's wife looked after the trial and conviction of her husband ?

It also makes me mad to know that they think money will buy their way out of most of their situations, and for us working middle class people who don't have a lot of money, if we do wrong, we get slammed to the curb and stepped on like dirt. To me if any person does wrong no matter their status in life they should get repremended. I know you are thinking, it depends on the situation and the severity of the crime, and that the punishment should fit the crime, maybe so, but still the leaders will wiggle off the hook when the average person gets the book thrown at them. Now is that fair ? Money don't always buy everything you know. All I can say is you can't do wrong and get by, you will get caught at some point or the other.

Since gas prices are climbing everyday, I came up with a solution to the problem that might help the ever increasing up hill journey.  If every person who pays any type of car, house, credit card or whatever bill, only pay half of their payment then the creditors will get upset that they are losing money and will begin to get the attention of the govmt. to STOP the oil companies from letting the gas prices get so ridiculously out of hand.

I know that before there was a " one " day boycott from buying gas for that day. Come on we and the oil companies all know that even though we didn't buy gas on that "one" day, we had to buy it the very nextr day so what was the point ?  With the idea I came up with it will mean more to the creditors and loan compaines and such because most everybody pays at least a car payment each month plus other bills.

Now you may say, " But if I don't pay all of my payment they will add a late fee to my bill " well, so what, you have to get to work somehow and if the gas prices doesn't come down, we will not be able to afford to drive to work to pay the bills anyway.  I was told one time that in order to get a stubborn mules attention was to hit him between the eyes with a 2 x 4. Sure we cannot hit the govmt. actually with a 2 x 4, but if we ALL were to pay half of our bills, then as far as I am concerned, that IS as good as a 2 x 4 because the creditors will get more accomplished toward the cost of gas.

I would like to let those of you who do not attend church on a regular basis or have become a part of the old " humdrum church burnout ".  I would like to introduce you to the " exciting "  Church of the Highlands ". ( Grants Mill Campus ).

We have visited on a couple of occasions and have enjoyed it very much.  It really is NOT your typical church with the typical church service. The people are very friendly and greet you with a warm friendly smile. That was very important to me.

You don't have to be all dressed up in your " Sunday Best  ".  If you prefer casual dress ( shorts, bluejeans, flipflops ), that is excepted. The traditional sunday dress has always been suits ties, & dresses.  Now you can come in a relaxed ,casual atmosphere and listen to some good Biblical teaching and you' re only there for 1 hour. 

I would highly recommend giving it a try with an open mind, heart, and maybe you to will like it. They have 4 campuses and a website you can visit it at Church of the Highlands.com  Take a look for yourself to see just what all they do offer. As the old saying that was popular a few years ago said  " Try It You Might Like It ".
