Birmingham the most generous city!

Here is some good news for Birmingham,  the Tijeras Foundation in Albuquerque, N.M. ranked Birmingham as the most generous city in the U.S.A. out of 60 metro areas!  We give around 3.6 percent of our household income to charities every year!  2nd was Memphis at 3.4 percent and 3rd was columbia at 3.2 percent.  Now with Alabama having a lot of reglious people that is not a suprising fact.  I wish we gave more to charities but with the economic problems it is getting harder to give to less fortunate people.

Unfortunately such great news from an obscure little foundation in New Mexico will not grab the national headlines like the murder rate or how fat we are.

Hey game6065, ever heard the phrase " It's better to give than receive" ? That's bible, in case you wondered. Sometimes when you give to others YOU are blessed more. Something to think about.

at least i know i got my money i worked for it the whole point is why give away your money i don't give BLEEP to the church there a bunch do gooders.i love to stick it to the man and shoot the finger every now and then

people are suffering with job loss and hard times and the people you trust in giving your money to help others are taken more then they give out.there giving as little as 10 percent of the money you give them by law the rest is used to pay the workers its not non-profit but pay salery and bonuses to higher ups thats my problem with giving know the facts before you open you wallet.
