John McCain or Barack Obama. Who would you prefer at your summer cookout?

An Associated Press-Yahoo News poll gives the nod to Obama, 52% to 45%.  Read the results here.

Men are a bit split. Women say Obama. Whites prefer McCain. Young voters see Obama as the better guest. McCain scores best with older voters.

Who says there is no serious reporting this election season?

On a related note, Time does a great piece on the gambling habits of the two candidates. Time quotes long-time McCain confidante John Weaver as saying  "enjoying craps opens up a window on a central thread constant in John's life."

Obama is a poker player. Newsweek quotes one Illinois legislative colleague as saying "if he runs his presidency the way he plays poker, I'll sleep good at night." Read the story here.
