Apparently, as gas prices are going up, so are the fees some credit card and debit card companies charge to process transactions at the pump. Stations aren't making any more money off the gas, and with fees going up, they aren't making much money (if any) at all. Some stations in some states are actually going so far as to not allow customers to use plastic to pay for their gas. That leads us to our poll question.

Do you pay at the pump?

It's a yes or no question, but you can think of more to say than that. And don't forget - your response may be used on FOX6 News!

I normally pay at the pump. It's convenient, quick, and helps me refrain from buying snacks and other stuff I don't need inside the store. I believe it's also safer. You don't have to flash money or other things that is in your wallet/purse, that could be eye candy to someone who has a premeditated criminal act in mind.

I pay at the pump. It's quick and speeds me along my way without having to wait in a line - there's enough of that already.

Why not pay the exhorbant rip off fees at the pumps like everyone else? It's quicker, less to deal with inside with the morons that usually work there, and it's another reason to use a credit card made from the byproduct of

OIL????

There is a Chevron by my work that offers a "cash" price. It is about $.05 cheaper if you pay with cash. So, just here recently I have started using cash to purchase my gas.

Great - but a nickel a gallon on four-dollar a gallon gas is less than 1%. What is your time and hassle worth? Hey, I ain't knockin' it - I'm just sayin'...

I pay at the pump. But I've been seeing some stations offer "incentives" for paying with cash.

One store in Pelham offers a free bottle of water when you pay with cash.

I feel it is safer, especially for a short woman who is driving alone, to pay at the pump. But if I have to pay inside to save a little money, so be it.

Most people don't carry cash on them because of a safety issue of not getting robbed. Also you could have a better record keeping system if you pay at the pump.

One person I know says when he pays for gas at the pump, he will stop on a odd number so he will know when he gets his bill that it was for a gas purchase.

the odd number deals a pretty good idea, i allways pay at the pump, it makes it a lot easier and safer. I think if we can pay at the pump, we should be able to get gas even the the place is closed. of course some thug would probably try to take advantage of that some how.

my wife works for a gas station and heres what i see with paying at the pump.your not safe as you think the person inside can still get your card info.they love for you to pay outside less to deal with most people are rude that come in.yell about gas prices and the price of the stuff inside. the person your yelling at has nothing to do with the price your paying they pay the same to get to work so think about that before you open your big mouth

you might want to re-phrase your very last comment game. When people are getting screwed by high gas prices they tend to be a little annoyed. I have been into the so called "quick marts" and their prices ARE HIGH.

I pay at the pump also- but your statement is false- stations are reporting huge profits as they raise prices on inventory daily-not when they purchase as in the past- they used to be happy with .05 per gallon profit, but research shows they are now making .25 or more per gallon.Get all the facts, not just one side of a sob story to cover their real intent.More profit!

Folks, we are hostage to OPEC. We have to wake up to the urgent need for alternative energy sources and our need to drill for our known oil and gas reserves off the East and West Coasts and in ANWR.
